PKR Extends Winning Streak to 188 Days

The Pakistani rupee (PKR) continued its steady recovery against the US dollar on Tuesday, posting its 188th consecutive daily gain in the interbank market.

The local currency closed at Rs. 278.16 against the US dollar after appreciating by one paisa compared to the previous trading session.

The rupee has now maintained its gradual upward trend against the greenback for six months and five days, extending a recovery streak that began on December 25, 2025.

Against regional currencies, the PKR remained unchanged versus both the UAE Dirham (AED) and the Saudi Riyal (SAR).

Among other major currencies, the rupee gained 32 paisas against the Euro (EUR) but lost 40 paisas against the British Pound (GBP) during Tuesday’s trading.

The sustained appreciation marks another milestone for the rupee, which has continued to record incremental gains against the US dollar throughout 2026.
