[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]A comprehensive traffic plan for Islamabad and Rawalpindi has been issued as the New Zealand and Pakistan cricket teams prepare to face off in a highly anticipated series. The matches will be held from April 18th to April 30th, 2023, with both teams staying at Islamabad’s Serena Hotel.
A diversion plan has been devised to ensure smooth traffic flow during this time. First, Khayaban-e-Suhrawardy Road will be closed in front of the Serena main gate. Instead, traffic will be diverted to Globe Chowk via the Convention Centre, with access to Serena remaining open from Globe Chowk.
However, traffic congestion is expected in the FATA lane, which will remain open for both entry and exit to Serena Hotel and SBC as a result of this diversion.

Second, the Murree Road from Faizabad to Double Road will be closed during the teams’ departure and arrival. Furthermore, Stadium Road will be completely closed on both sides from 9th Avenue Chowk to Double Road during the match.
In addition to these closures, several diversions will be in place for traffic coming from various directions.
Traffic from Islamabad will be routed via Faizabad to the Motorway, while traffic from Rawalpindi to Islamabad will be routed via 6th Road Chowk to Saidpur Road. Those coming from Islamabad’s 9th Avenue will be diverted to IJP Road.
To avoid inconvenience, commuters and residents should plan their journeys accordingly and follow the diversion routes. The authorities have also asked the public to cooperate with the traffic plan and follow traffic police instructions in order to ensure everyone’s safety and security.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
