Trump Warns Iran: Reopen Hormuz or Face ‘Hell’

US President Donald Trump has issued a fresh 48-hour warning to Iran, demanding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz as tensions continue without any significant progress in diplomatic talks.

The warning comes as the conflict between the United States and Iran enters its sixth week, drawing in multiple countries and causing instability in global energy markets. The Strait of Hormuz, a critical route through which nearly one-fifth of the world’s oil supply passes, has been disrupted during ongoing military operations, raising concerns about a wider economic crisis. Trump’s ultimatum follows an earlier April 6 deadline, urging Iran to either reach an agreement or restore access to the vital waterway, with the possibility of military escalation if negotiations fail.

At the same time, the US military is dealing with operational challenges, including the search for a missing service member after two aircraft incidents. In one case, a fighter jet crashed in a remote area of southwestern Iran. One crew member was successfully rescued, while efforts are still underway to locate the other individual.

In another incident, an A-10 aircraft went down over the Persian Gulf. Iranian state media claimed the aircraft was brought down by air defense systems, but US officials have not confirmed whether it was shot down or crashed due to other reasons. The Trump administration has yet to release an official statement on the matter.

With global oil markets already under pressure and geopolitical tensions rising sharply, the coming 48 hours are seen as crucial. The situation could either move toward a fragile diplomatic resolution or escalate into a more severe and potentially far-reaching conflict.
