The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted widespread rain and thunderstorms across several provinces from April 5 to April 9. The weather is being caused by a new western disturbance approaching western Balochistan.
Balochistan
Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in Chaghi, Dalbandin, Kharan, Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah, Noushki, Harnai, Zhob, Kalat, Khuzdar, Barkhan, Mastung, Sibbi, Kohlu, Naseerabad, and Loralai from the night of April 5 until the morning of April 7.
Scattered hailstorms and isolated heavy rainfall may occur in Panjgur, Turbat, Kech, Awaran, and the Makran Coast, including Gwadar, Pasni, and Ormara, on April 6.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The province will experience widespread rain and thunderstorms, with snowfall expected in mountainous areas. Affected districts include Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Malakand, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Balakot, Haripur, Mardan, Nowshera, Peshawar, Kurram, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Swabi, Charsadda, Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank, Dera Ismail Khan, and Waziristan from April 6 to April 9.
Heavy rainfall and hailstorms are likely at scattered places on April 7 and 8.
Punjab and Islamabad
Widespread rain and thunderstorms are expected in Murree, Galliyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sargodha, Mianwali, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Khushab, Noorpurthal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Pakpattan, Okara, Kasur, and Sahiwal from April 6 (evening) to April 9.
Other districts, including Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Kot Addu, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, and Khanewal, may see rain and thunderstorms on April 6 and 7.
Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir
Scattered rain and thunderstorms are likely in Sukkur, Kashmore, Ghotki, Jamshoro, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Larkana, and Kambar Shahdadkot. Light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are expected in Dadu, Naushahro Feroze, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Mityari, Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Thatta, Badin, Sujawal, and Karachi on April 6.
Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir will also experience rain and thunderstorms, with snowfall over mountains in high-altitude areas. Districts affected include Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Guanche, Shigar, Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, and Mirpur.
