An Iranian Strike on Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia has left at least 12 US soldiers wounded, according to media reports. Two of the injured troops are said to be in serious condition. The incident marks a new escalation in ongoing regional tensions.
Reports suggest that the Strike involved at least one missile and several drones. The attack targeted a key military facility used by US forces in Saudi Arabia. At the time of the incident, soldiers were inside a building when it was hit.
The Strike also caused damage to several aerial refueling aircraft stationed at the base. These planes play an important role in supporting military operations across the region. The extent of the damage is still being assessed by officials.
This development comes as Iran continues retaliatory actions against Gulf countries. Tehran has accused these nations of supporting US-led operations against it. The current conflict began on February 28 during a joint operation involving the United States and Israel.
Saudi Arabia has previously intercepted missiles fired near Prince Sultan Air Base. However, this latest Strike appears to have reached its target, causing injuries and material losses. Officials in Washington have not yet issued a detailed response to the incident.
The Pentagon and US Central Command have not immediately commented on the situation. Meanwhile, concerns are rising over the safety of US personnel stationed in the region. The ongoing conflict has already resulted in multiple casualties on both sides.
Since the start of hostilities, at least 13 US service members have been killed. Seven deaths occurred in the Gulf region, while six were reported in Iraq. More than 300 US personnel have also been wounded.
In a separate incident earlier this month, a suspected Iranian drone targeted the CIA station at the US Embassy in Riyadh. The attack caused minor damage and a small fire, according to officials. No major casualties were reported in that event.
