IHC to Hear Imran Khan’s Appeal in 190 Million Pounds Case

The Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, will have their petitions heard by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in the 190 million Pounds Al-Qadir Trust case. The couple is seeking suspension of their prison sentences.

A two-member IHC bench, led by Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif, has scheduled the hearing for March 31, 2026. The high court has requested a response from the couple’s lawyer regarding a petition filed by the National Accountability Bureau. The NAB argued that the petitions were inadmissible for hearing.

Both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were sentenced by an accountability court on January 17, 2025. Since then, they have challenged the verdict, seeking suspension of the sentences as legal proceedings continue.

At the last hearing on March 11, the IHC had imposed a Rs100,000 fine on the NAB for employing “delaying tactics,” though the fine was not formally included in the subsequent written order. The court instructed the NAB to be fully prepared for the upcoming hearing.

The defence has requested a swift resolution, citing Imran Khan’s deteriorating eye condition. The upcoming session is expected to be an important development in the Al-Qadir Trust case, which has drawn nationwide attention.

Legal experts suggest that the IHC’s decision could significantly affect Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. The case remains under close observation as the former prime minister seeks relief from the prison sentence.
