ICC Penalizes Salman Ali Agha for Misconduct in ODI vs Bangladesh

Pakistan all-rounder Salman Ali Agha has received a reprimand from the International Cricket Council (ICC) for violating the Code of Conduct during the second ODI against Bangladesh.

According to the ICC, Agha breached Article 2.2, which addresses the abuse of cricket equipment, ground fittings, or player clothing during international matches. The incident involved inappropriate gestures and disrespect toward cricket equipment on the field.

As a result of the breach, the ICC has added one demerit point to Salman Ali Agha’s disciplinary record. This is his first offence within a 24-month period, which may affect his record if another incident occurs within this timeframe.

Agha accepted the decision of the match referee and admitted his mistake. The ICC emphasized that the disciplinary action is part of its commitment to uphold professional conduct and fair play in cricket.

Officials noted that the ICC Code of Conduct is designed to maintain respect for the sport, its equipment, and all participants. Violations may lead to demerit points, fines, or suspensions depending on the severity and recurrence of the offence.

Cricket analysts said that while this is a minor offence, repeated breaches could lead to harsher penalties. Maintaining discipline on the field is essential for players, both for personal records and for team performance.

Salman Ali Agha continues to be an integral part of Pakistan’s national team. Officials hope this warning will reinforce proper conduct and encourage all players to adhere strictly to ICC regulations during international matches.
