Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan has been named in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 Team of the Tournament following an exceptional performance with the bat. The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the team on Monday, highlighting Farhan’s consistency and record-breaking contributions.
Farhan scored 383 runs in six matches, setting a new record for the most runs by any batter in a single edition of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The 29-year-old also became only the second batter to score two centuries in a single T20 World Cup edition.
One of his most memorable innings came against Sri Lanka in Pakistan’s final Super Eight match, where his century helped the team secure a narrow five-run victory. Despite Farhan’s efforts, Pakistan was eliminated at the Super Eight stage.
The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 Team of the Tournament was selected by a panel of experts, including Ian Bishop, Eoin Morgan, Natalie Germanos, Gaurav Saxena, and Sri Lankan journalist Rex Clementine. The team featured top performers from across the event, recognizing players’ impact and match-winning contributions.
Other notable players in the team include Sanju Samson (wk), Ishan Kishan, Aiden Markram (c), Hardik Pandya, Will Jacks, Jasprit Bumrah, Jason Holder, Lungi Ngidi, Adil Rashid, Blessing Muzarbani, and Shadley van Schalkwyk (12th man).
