The Sindh government has announced a holiday for all educational institutions on March 11 to mark the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA). This day is observed annually on the 21st of Ramadan.
According to an official notification, all public and private schools and colleges across Sindh will remain closed on Wednesday. The decision was made following recommendations from the Sindh sub-committee of the steering committee on education.
Youm-e-Ali is commemorated with processions, gatherings, and religious events across the country. The holiday allows students and staff to participate in these observances and honor the life and sacrifices of Hazrat Ali (RA).
In a separate development, the authorities in Islamabad have announced a spring break for educational institutions in the federal capital. Schools and colleges under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) will observe the break from March 24 to March 27.
The FDE notification clarified that all institutions will reopen on March 30. During the break, teaching staff are instructed to compile and announce in-house annual examination results. This ensures students receive their academic updates promptly.
The announcements of both the Sindh holiday and Islamabad spring break provide clarity for students, parents, and educational institutions to plan ahead. Authorities have urged all schools and colleges to adhere to the announced schedule.
The Sindh government emphasized that the holiday is specific to March 11 and only applies to educational institutions. Administrative offices and other government departments will operate as usual unless otherwise notified.
Parents and students are encouraged to make necessary arrangements to observe the day respectfully and utilize the spring break for academic preparation or family time.
