A video of well-known Pakistani YouTuber Rajab Butt has recently gone viral on social media, where he talked about his father’s health and the prayers he offered for his recovery.
In the clip, Rajab Butt shared that his father was diagnosed with Hepatitis C around eight years ago. He explained that during that difficult time, he regularly prayed for his father’s health. He expressed gratitude, saying that God eventually blessed his father with recovery, something he still feels deeply thankful for today.
Rajab Butt further said that for the last eight years he has been offering two voluntary prayers of gratitude, known as Nawafil, every day to thank God for improving his father’s health. He also mentioned that his father is extremely important to him and holds a very special place in his life.
However, a comment he made in the same video sparked criticism online. Rajab Butt said that although he may sometimes miss obligatory prayers, he never misses the voluntary prayers he offers in gratitude for his father’s recovery. This statement quickly drew strong reactions from social media users.
Many people criticized the remark, pointing out that obligatory prayers, known as Farz in Islam, must always be performed and cannot be skipped, while voluntary prayers are optional. Some users argued that Rajab Butt appeared to be sharing a personal interpretation of religious practices.
In addition, some social media users also criticized him on a personal level. A few commenters claimed that while he often talks about caring for his family, he has not shown the same level of attention toward his wife. Some even accused him of neglecting her since the early days of their marriage, which added to the online debate surrounding the viral video.
