Noreen Niazi, widely known as Imran Khan’s sister, sustained minor injuries after falling into an under-construction drain in Rawalpindi on Tuesday. The incident took place near the Dehgal checkpoint on Adiala Road.
According to reports, Imran Khan’s sister was attempting to cross the drain along with a party worker. The area was under construction and had limited safe passage. While navigating the site, she reportedly lost her footing and slipped into the drain.
People present at the scene quickly responded. Bystanders rushed to help and safely pulled her out of the drain. She suffered minor injuries in the fall. No serious harm was reported.
The incident occurred close to an under-construction plaza near the Dehgal checkpoint. Reports stated that all three sisters of former prime minister Imran Khan were present in the area at the time. They were trying to reach Adiala Jail.
Under the jail manual, the day had been set for prisoners to meet their family members. Imran Khan’s sisters were reportedly on their way to meet him inside the prison. Imran Khan remains incarcerated at Adiala Jail.
The situation caused brief concern among supporters present nearby. However, Imran Khan’s sister was assisted immediately, and the matter was brought under control. There were no reports of major disruption following the incident.
