Dubai Announces Ramadan Parking and Transport Timings

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced adjusted parking and public transport schedules for the holy month of Ramadan to help residents balance daily travel with fasting and prayer commitments.

Under the revised plan, paid public parking will be enforced from Monday to Saturday in two time slots: 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM to midnight. The break between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM allows motorists two hours of free parking at sunset, giving worshippers the opportunity to offer prayers and break their fast without incurring charges. Multi-level parking facilities, however, will continue to operate on a 24-hour paid basis as per usual practice.

Dubai Metro services on both the Red and Green Lines will follow special Ramadan hours. From Monday to Thursday and on Saturday, trains will operate from 5:00 AM until midnight. On Fridays, services will extend until 1:00 AM the following day, while Sunday operations will run from 8:00 AM to midnight.

Dubai Tram services will also follow an updated timetable. From Monday to Saturday, trams will run between 6:00 AM and 1:00 AM the next day. On Sundays, operations will begin at 9:00 AM and continue until 1:00 AM.

Bus users are advised to check the latest schedules through the S’hail app, while marine transport passengers can confirm updated timings on the RTA’s official website. Additionally, service centers, customer happiness centers, and vehicle testing facilities will function according to Ramadan-specific hours.

Meanwhile, the UAE’s moon sighting committee is set to meet on February 17 to determine the official start of Ramadan. Authorities in Saudi Arabia will also observe the crescent the same day, encouraging residents to report verified sightings.
