The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has dismissed 12 employees from the Department of Auqaf Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over repeated violations of the smart attendance system.
An official notification confirmed the action. It stated that the 12 employees failed to mark their attendance through the digital system several times. They had already received multiple warnings before the final decision.
Authorities said the staff members did not comply with clear instructions. The smart attendance system is mandatory for all department employees. It is designed to improve transparency and ensure punctuality.
Despite reminders, the 12 employees continued to ignore the digital attendance rules. As a result, the provincial administration ordered their immediate termination. The notification made it clear that no further leniency would be granted.
Officials also warned that strict action will continue against violators. Any employee who fails to follow official orders may face similar consequences. The government has urged staff to strictly follow attendance protocols.
The decision is part of broader administrative reforms in the province. Last year, the KP government directed departments to review certain appointments. These included employees hired during the caretaker government period.
Departments were instructed to examine recruitments made between January 22, 2023, and February 29, 2024. If irregularities were found, services were to be terminated. This review aimed to ensure merit and compliance with rules.
Officials stated that the dismissal of 12 employees sends a clear message. Compliance with digital systems is not optional. Government departments are expected to maintain discipline and accountability.
The smart attendance system has been introduced to reduce absenteeism. It also helps monitor staff performance more effectively. Authorities believe digital monitoring improves governance standards.
The provincial administration has emphasized strict enforcement moving forward. Employees have been reminded to follow official instructions without delay. The government says these measures will strengthen transparency across departments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
