Atta Tarar Denies Deal Claims Over Imran Khan Health

Speaking to reporters in London, Atta Tarar said the case of PTI founder Imran Khan remains strictly before courts and insisted no deal or negotiation of any kind has taken place between authorities and the jailed political leader.

He rejected speculation circulating online about Khan’s condition, saying reports describing his health as alarming were exaggerated and driven largely by social media narratives rather than verified medical information shared by officials or responsible sources familiar with his current condition.

According to the minister, Khan’s health has improved significantly and the issue that previously existed has already been resolved. He added that party representatives were formally briefed about his condition inside Adiala Jail and urged political actors not to exploit health matters for publicity or pressure tactics.

Tarar criticized opposition figures, saying those who once advocated removing basic facilities from prisoners are now raising concerns for political purposes. He stressed that humanitarian issues should not be politicized and called for responsible discourse, especially when matters relate to a detained individual’s wellbeing and medical care.

Discussing diplomacy, he said he had received an invitation to attend a Gaza peace forum and reaffirmed that Pakistan has consistently supported Palestinian rights. He added that the country maintains a clear and principled foreign policy stance on global humanitarian and conflict issues.

Referring to international relations and sports, Tarar noted that a prime minister recently visited Austria after decades, the first since Nawaz Sharif’s 1992 trip. Commenting on cricket, he said losses against India happen, stressing improvement will come with time and effort.
