Two Foreign Airlines to Start Flights to Pakistan

Fresh passenger and cargo air connections between Uzbekistan and Pakistan are scheduled to commence, marking a significant step toward strengthening bilateral connectivity. The initiative is part of broader efforts to deepen trade, tourism, and economic cooperation between the two nations.

Uzbek carriers Centrum Air and My Freighter will introduce new operations, including scheduled passenger services and dedicated cargo flights. Beginning March 30, 2026, Centrum Air will operate direct flights between Tashkent and Lahore. The route will run twice a week using Airbus A320 aircraft, providing travelers with a convenient nonstop option between the two cities.

At the same time, My Freighter will initiate cargo services to Karachi, enhancing freight capacity and improving supply chain efficiency. The new cargo link is expected to facilitate smoother trade flows and reduce logistical bottlenecks, benefiting exporters and importers in both countries.

The expansion follows high-level diplomatic engagements aimed at boosting bilateral relations. During a recent visit to Pakistan, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the need for direct air connectivity to strengthen economic ties, encourage tourism, and promote closer people-to-people interaction.

Officials say the additional routes will support business travel, streamline transportation of goods, and encourage investment opportunities. Abdulaziz Abdurakhmanov, Founder and CEO of Centrum Holding, described the initiative as more than just route expansion. He termed it the establishment of a sustainable “air bridge” designed to foster regional cooperation and stimulate economic growth.

The launch of these services signals a new phase in Uzbekistan-Pakistan relations, with aviation playing a central role in enhancing connectivity and commercial collaboration.
