The government of Pakistan has launched the Roshan Pankha Roshan Pakistan Program, a new initiative designed to help households replace old, inefficient fans with modern 5-star energy-saving models. The program aims to reduce electricity consumption, lower monthly bills, and contribute to a greener environment.
Under the program, consumers can upgrade their fans with no upfront payment. The cost is conveniently added to monthly electricity bills in easy installments, making it affordable for families across the country. Officials say the 5-star certified fans consume up to 70% less electricity than traditional models, promising significant savings over time.
Registration is fast, digital, and user-friendly. Interested households can sign up via the official portal at efan.gov.pk or through the mobile app available on Android and iOS. Applicants need to enter their CNIC and electricity bill, after which the system instantly calculates their financing limit.
Eligible participants can select the number of fans they want to replace. Once approved, a manufacturer will visit their home, install the new fans, and drill the old ones to prevent reuse. Consumers then confirm the installation online via the NEECA portal, ensuring transparency. Repayments are automatically added to monthly bills in equal installments for hassle-free payments.
Eligibility criteria include holding a valid NADRA CNIC, having an electricity bill in the applicant’s name, maintaining a good payment record, using a SIM linked to their CNIC, being a residential consumer, and owning fans that need replacement. Commercial and industrial users are excluded.
Financing ranges from Rs12,000 to Rs300,000, depending on household eligibility and the number of fans being replaced. Authorities promise installation within 30 days of approval. With this program, Pakistanis can cut their energy bills, replace outdated fans, and play a part in building a sustainable future.
