PMD Forecasts Rain, Snow, and Strong Winds Across Pakistan

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather advisory warning of rain, snowfall, and strong winds across various parts of the country over the coming days. Citizens have been advised to take precautions, particularly in areas prone to heavy rainfall and low visibility.

Islamabad is expected to experience intermittent showers throughout the night, accompanied by thunderstorms. The weather department has urged residents to remain cautious of waterlogging and possible traffic disruptions in the capital.

Northern areas, including Murree, Galiyat, and nearby regions, are likely to witness both rain and snowfall. Similarly, districts such as Chitral, Dera, Swat, Kalam, Shangla, and Kohistan are forecasted to receive a mix of rain and snow, creating challenging conditions for travelers.

Other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Charsadda, Buner, Battagram, Mansehra, and Abbottabad, are also expected to experience rainfall. Residents in these regions have been advised to stay alert for localized flooding and slippery roads.

In Balochistan, most areas will experience cold and dry weather. However, Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, and Musa Khel may see rain and snowfall. Authorities have also warned of strong winds, which could impact daily life and cause potential disruptions in these districts.

The PMD has further predicted thunderstorms and gusty winds for Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, increasing the risk of landslides and road blockages in hilly terrains. Travelers and residents in these regions have been advised to exercise caution and stay updated with local weather alerts.
