Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is observing a nationwide protest today, declaring February 8 a “Black Day” over alleged rigging in the 2024 general elections.
PTI Secretary Information Sheikh Waqas Akram said the Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Aaeen Pakistan called for a peaceful shutter-down and wheel-jam strike nationwide.
He stated that shops, markets, businesses, and transport services are expected to remain shut, urging citizens to participate calmly and responsibly.
PTI maintains it was deprived of electoral victory through large-scale manipulation, despite contesting without the bat symbol and winning KP convincingly.
The party also highlighted continued legal pressure on its leadership, including imprisoned chairman Imran Khan, and arrests of workers nationwide.
Sheikh Waqas urged citizens to stay home, offer Maghrib prayers collectively, and later hold peaceful torch rallies in neighborhoods.
