Rescue 1122 Deploys 1,200+ Staff for Basant Emergency Plan in Lahore

Rescue 1122 has finalized a comprehensive emergency plan to manage any untoward incidents during Lahore’s Basant Festival, ensuring swift response and public safety across the city. The move comes as rooftops and streets fill with kites, music, and celebrations after years of restrictions.

According to a Rescue 1122 spokesperson, more than 1,200 rescuers will remain on high alert throughout the festival. The arrangements include 56 ambulances, 24 fire vehicles, and 300 rescue motorbikes strategically deployed to guarantee rapid response in case of emergencies.

In addition to the city’s 23 rescue stations, authorities have set up 180 key emergency points where ambulances, fire units, and motorbike teams will be stationed. This ensures coverage across densely populated and high-traffic areas of Lahore.

Specially assigned rescue motorbikes will navigate congested neighborhoods and narrow streets, allowing quicker access to emergency sites. Sensitive areas such as the Walled City, Mazang, Ichhra, Shad Bagh, and Data Darbar have been prioritized with dedicated teams.

Rescue officials confirmed that routine rescue and medical operations will continue uninterrupted alongside Basant-specific duties, ensuring that citizens receive timely assistance during the festivities.

The emergency plan reflects a coordinated effort to combine public celebration with safety, providing reassurance to families and festival-goers across Lahore.
