Islamabad Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory for Wednesday, February 4, 2026, warning commuters of temporary road diversions across the city between 8 pm and 9 pm. The advisory aims to manage traffic flow and reduce congestion during the enforcement period.
According to authorities, diversions will be in place on Islamabad Expressway, Murree Road, and Club Road. Commuters are expected to face delays, particularly on Islamabad Expressway and Faisal Avenue, as traffic is rerouted through alternative routes.
Motorists traveling from Rawalpindi to Islamabad have been advised to use Rawal Road, Ninth Avenue, Faqir Aipee Road, and Srinagar Highway as alternate routes. Those heading from Islamabad to Rawalpindi are recommended to use Zero Point, Srinagar Highway, and Ninth Avenue.
For travelers going to or from Murree or Barakahu, police suggest taking Korang Road, Bani Gala, Park Road, and Lehtrar Road. Citizens moving from Serena Hotel or Barakahu toward Rawalpindi should follow Park Road Khanna to avoid congested areas.
Islamabad Traffic Police confirmed that officers will remain deployed on major roads to assist commuters and maintain smooth traffic movement. The department urged drivers to follow traffic rules and signage, stay alert, and allow extra travel time to avoid delays.
For updates or emergency assistance, commuters can contact the traffic helpline at 1915 or the emergency number 15. Authorities reminded citizens that adherence to instructions will ensure a safer and more organized commute during the temporary diversions.
