Pakistan, US Join Forces to Improve Border Security Measures

Pakistan and the United States have agreed to enhance Border Security and overall security cooperation during a high-level meeting. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met a US delegation led by Acting Ambassador Natalie Baker to discuss strengthening ties and joint initiatives.

Both sides emphasized the need for closer coordination to address evolving challenges in security and law enforcement. The meeting also focused on expanding collaboration in areas of mutual interest.

Deepening Cooperation

During discussions, it was agreed to further strengthen cooperation with American institutions. Naqvi highlighted that long-term partnerships with Pakistani agencies are essential for effective Border Security and national safety.

The interior minister stressed that advanced digital tools are necessary to track criminals operating abroad, combat financial fraud, and prevent terrorist financing.

Modern Technology and Equipment

Naqvi announced that Pakistani Border Security forces, Coast Guards, and other institutions will be equipped with modern American technology. This equipment is expected to significantly enhance operational capacity and improve monitoring of borders.

He also noted that improved technology will help law enforcement agencies respond quickly to threats and strengthen border management systems.

Support for FIA and NCCIA

The interior minister welcomed US assistance for the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).

The FIA’s anti-terrorism wing, supported by US cooperation, will coordinate with provincial authorities for the first time at the federal level. Meanwhile, the NCCIA continues efforts against illegal call centers, cybercrime, and financial fraud.

US Delegation Praises Pakistan

The US delegation appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to improve Border Security and bilateral collaboration. Acting Ambassador Natalie Baker assured that support would continue to further strengthen joint initiatives and security cooperation.
