Four Girls Seriously Injured in Rawalpindi House Fire

RAWALPINDI: Four young girls suffered severe burn injuries in a house fire in Rawalpindi on Wednesday, according to rescue officials.

The incident took place in the Niazi Town area. Rescue 1122 received an emergency call and rushed to the scene. Firefighters controlled the blaze and provided first aid to the victims.

The injured girls were shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital. Doctors said their condition was critical on arrival. Emergency treatment was started immediately.

The victims were identified as:

Sukaina, aged three, Ayat, aged four, Tabeer, aged five, and Fariha, aged seven. All four are siblings, rescue sources confirmed.

According to the house owner, the children were living with their mother on the upper floor of the house. He told authorities that a heater was switched on in the room. The mother reportedly left the children unattended for a short time.

Smoke and screams alerted people in the house. The landlord said he acted quickly after hearing the noise. He managed to pull the children out before the fire spread further.

Rescue officials said the fire caused serious burn injuries to all four girls. The exact cause of the fire has not been confirmed yet. Initial statements point to the heater as a possible reason.

Police have also started an investigation into the incident. Officials said they are reviewing all possibilities. One report mentioned that a neighbour may be involved, but police said this claim is still under investigation.
