Security Forces Stop Deadly Terror attack on Bannu Check Post

Security forces successfully stopped a deadly Terror attack on a police check post in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The incident occurred after armed militants opened fire in several directions. Officials confirmed that no casualties were reported among police personnel due to timely action. 

According to police sources, the Terror attack targeted the Kasho Pal police check post within Bannu’s limits. Militants attempted to breach security during the late hours. Police officers stationed at the post responded immediately and returned fire. 

The exchange of fire continued for several minutes. Due to strong resistance, the attackers failed to advance. They later escaped from the area under the cover of darkness. Police forces then secured the surroundings to prevent further threats. 

District Police Officer Yasir Afridi confirmed the incident. He said police inflicted heavy losses on the attackers during the gunfight. He added that the police force always remained alert to counter such dangers. 

The DPO stated that the Terror attack was part of ongoing attempts to disrupt peace in the district. He stressed that police morale was high. He assured citizens that security forces would continue to protect lives and property. Yasir Afridi said police had clear instructions to respond forcefully to any attack. He warned that terrorists would be tracked and arrested. He added that no militant would be allowed to escape justice. 

Security in Bannu has remained sensitive due to past militant activity. Authorities have increased patrols and intelligence gatherings. Police check posts across the district have been placed on high alert.

Officials also recalled a recent intelligence-based operation in the same district. On November 24, security forces conducted a major raid against militants. The operation was launched after confirmed intelligence reports. 

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, security forces killed 22 militants during that operation. The militants belonged to Fitna al Khwarij, described as an Indian proxy group. The exchange of fire lasted several hours. The ISPR stated that forces targeted a known hideout. A sanitization operation is still underway to clear the area. Authorities aim to remove any remaining threats completely. 

Law enforcement agencies believe such Terror attack attempts are meant to create fear. Officials said the quick police response prevented possible loss of life.
