11 Family Members Die in Muzaffargarh Van-Truck Collision

MULTAN – Eleven family members died, and over a dozen were injured, in a van-truck collision on Saturday night near Muzaffargarh’s MM Road Mohammadwala.

The tragedy happened when a passenger van traveling from Bhakkar to Multan collided with a truck, killing five men, three women, two children, and a girl on the spot.The family was en route to visit relatives when the accident occurred. More than 15 passengers sustained severe injuries.

Rescue 1122 teams quickly transported the injured to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Chowk Sarwar Shaheed for medical treatment.Police have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the collision. Initial reports suggest reckless driving might have been a factor, but a thorough investigation is ongoing.

Road accidents in Southern Punjab are on the rise, with numerous fatalities and injuries reported in recent months. Causes include reckless driving, poor road conditions, overloaded vehicles, and inadequate traffic law enforcement.

Poor vehicle conditions and risky pedestrian behavior also contribute to these fatal collisions.
