Bhakkar – A woman was allegedly raped in Punjab’s Bhakkar after kidnappers asked her to return her mobile phone.
Police said the incident took place in the town’s Nazir and the victim has been sent to the hospital for medical examination.
Police said a raid is underway to arrest another suspect.
The victim told police that the suspect first raped her at the DHQ hospital and later stole her mobile phone. She said that he made a phone call to her house contact number and called her again, pretended to return her cell phone, and raped her with his friend.
Earlier, a disturbing case of sexual harassment emerged from southwestern Punjab where a seminary teacher has been arrested for allegedly raping a 13-year-old student.
A case was registered at Azam in Renala on a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother who found out that her daughter was seven months pregnant. The FIR alleges that the priest allegedly molested the girl and then threatened her to keep quiet about the incident.
After the apparent change in the girl’s behavior, the girl’s widowed mother became suspicious and questioned her in detail.
A medical examination confirmed that the pregnancy prompted the victim’s family to file a lawsuit against him when the suspect fled to Multan, but City Renala police successfully tracked him down and arrested him.
