This action is in response to the Lahore High Court’s (LHC) directive to extend the holiday period.
In continuation of their previous notifications, the SED and HED have declared that the winter vacation will now endure until January 9, 2024. This extension supersedes the earlier schedule, which had initially set the winter holidays from December 18 to December 31.

According to the updated timetable, all schools and colleges, whether public or private, are obliged to resume classes on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. The return to regular classes will signify the commencement of a complete and regular school week for all students.
Although the prolonged vacation brings relief to students, it’s crucial to note that specific COVID-19 safety protocols will persist. The SED notification underscores that the regulations regarding the mandatory use of face masks within school premises will remain in effect. This precautionary measure aims to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff.
The Chief Executive Officers of District Education Authorities (DEAs) in the respective districts have received explicit instructions to ensure stringent compliance with these directives.
The decision to extend the winter vacation aligns with the recent ruling from the Lahore High Court, indicating the court’s acknowledgment of the current circumstances.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
