Punjab Considers Extending Winter Vacations By A Week

Due to the harsh cold conditions in Punjab, the School Education Department is contemplating an additional week for winter holidays, as per a local media report. Winter vacations in Punjab’s schools began on December 18 and are scheduled to continue until the beginning of the next year.

Recently, there have been indications that the provincial government might alter the reopening schedule for schools due to the chilly weather. As of now, the Punjab government has not made a definitive decision. However, if the cold weather persists, authorities may need to consider adjustments to the school reopening schedule.

In addition, parents have expressed their desire for an extra week of winter vacations. They argue that some private schools in the province have already modified their schedules. Parents are urging an extension of the winter break until January 7. Responding to this request, the Education Department stated that a decision on extending the holidays would be made after consultation with the government.
