[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]WhatsApp has introduced a new ‘Chat Lock’ function that allows users to keep their talks more private. Users can lock individual chats, which will be saved in a unique folder that can only be accessed by validating biometrics. References to locked chats are also hidden in the notification feed.

Users will only need to tap on the name of a certain person’s chat and choose the lock option. Users can read the chat by unlocking it with a biometric such as Face ID, a finger scan, or by entering a password.

The function, according to WhatsApp, is ideal for users who share their mobile devices with family members. With biometric authentication, users can even choose to lock WhatsApp totally.

According to the company, it is working on introducing individual passwords for distinct chats as well as a feature to lock chats across all devices. The Lock Chat feature is gradually being sent out to all users.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
