Known for their activism and outspoken views, the actresses have raised concerns about the appropriateness of Zara’s recent campaign.
Ushna Shah, recognized for her unapologetic demeanor, took to the social media platform X to express her reservations. In a tweet, she pondered whether individuals should discard their Zara clothing, emphasizing that the brand’s identity does not align with their voices.

She articulated, “Should those who own Zara’s clothes throw them away since their brand doesn’t represent our voices?”
So do we throw away existing #zara clothes or just not buy new ones? IMO since they don’t have logos on them I don’t think wearing ones we already have should be a problem? Never shopping there again, obviously. #Boycott_zara #BoycottZara

Pointing out the lack of diverse voices in the brand’s clothing, Shah urged Zara owners to consider disposing of their items as a form of protest.
Ushna Shah leveraged the trending hashtag #BoycottZara, gaining momentum on social media, particularly in Pakistan.
The actress’s tweet gained prominence as Zara’s recent photoshoot faced scrutiny. The controversial campaign depicted small, shrouded figures resembling Muslim burials in white fabric, alongside representations of the challenging conditions faced by Palestinians.
In response to widespread condemnation, Ushna Shah affirmed her commitment to abstaining from purchasing Zara products in the future. Another Lollywood actress, Mishi Khan, echoed the criticism, expressing strong disapproval of the Zara brand and pledging not to buy their clothes again.

As social media users collectively expressed their outrage over the perceived exploitation of the suffering of innocent Palestinians, Zara reportedly removed the contentious image from its platforms. The image featured a model lifting a slim figure, reminiscent of a shroud, on her shoulders—a portrayal similar to how Palestinians bury their children.
Beyond Ushna Shah and Mishi Khan, Indian users joined in displaying their disappointment, questioning the use of Palestinian struggles for the brand’s promotional campaigns.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
