US Centcom Releases Video of Intercepting Iranian Vessel ‘Touska’ in Gulf Waters

The United States Central Command has released a video showing the interception of an Iranian cargo vessel, Touska, in the Arabian Sea. The footage highlights a major security operation linked to ongoing tensions in the region.

According to officials, the vessel Touska was stopped while heading toward an Iranian port. The incident took place amid a naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. US forces said the ship was warned multiple times but did not comply.

In a statement shared on X, US Central Command said Marines were deployed from the USS Tripoli (LHA-7). They traveled by helicopter over the Arabian Sea to board the vessel. The operation involved a coordinated military response.

The guided-missile destroyer USS Spruance (DDG-111) played a key role in the mission. It intercepted Touska while the ship was moving at high speed toward Bandar Abbas. US officials said the vessel was informed that it was violating blockade rules.

After repeated warnings were ignored for nearly six hours, action was taken. The destroyer ordered the crew of Touska to evacuate the engine room. It then fired controlled rounds to disable the ship’s propulsion system. This brought the vessel to a halt in open waters.

Following this, US Marines boarded the ship using rappelling techniques. The boarding took place on April 20. Officials confirmed that the vessel is now under US control for further inspection and investigation.

US Central Command stated that the operation was carried out in a careful and measured manner. It said all actions were taken to ensure compliance without unnecessary escalation. The forces involved followed strict operational guidelines.

Officials also revealed that several commercial ships have been stopped since the blockade began. Around 25 vessels have either been redirected or sent back to Iranian ports. This reflects a broader enforcement effort in the region.

The interception of Touska has added to rising tensions in the Gulf. The Strait of Hormuz remains a key route for global oil shipments. Any disruption in this area can affect international markets and trade.

Analysts believe such incidents could impact diplomatic efforts in the region. The situation remains sensitive as military actions continue alongside political developments. Further updates are expected as authorities review the outcome of the operation involving Touska.
