Ten Pakistani nationals deported from Türkiye have been handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) after attempting to enter the country through illegal means, according to official sources.
The deported individuals are now facing legal action under Pakistan’s human smuggling laws and the Passport Act following their return.
Illegal route through Taftan
According to FIA sources, investigations revealed that all ten Pakistanis travelled illegally to Türkiye via the Taftan border route, bypassing official immigration procedures.
Authorities said the deportees had no legal travel record proving their entry into Türkiye, confirming that they had used unauthorized routes with the assistance of human smugglers.
Agents charged up to Rs1.2 million
Initial investigations found that the individuals paid human trafficking agents amounts ranging from Rs200,000 to Rs1.2 million in exchange for arranging their illegal journey.
The payments were reportedly made with the promise of reaching Türkiye and potentially moving onward to other destinations.
Arrested before deportation
Turkish authorities arrested the Pakistani nationals at different times after discovering their illegal immigration status.
Following legal proceedings, they were deported to Pakistan, where they were taken into FIA custody for further investigation.
Cases to be registered
FIA officials said criminal cases will be registered against all ten deportees under relevant provisions of the Passport Act and laws relating to human smuggling.
The agency has also launched efforts to trace and identify the agents and networks involved in facilitating the illegal travel arrangements.
Authorities continue to urge citizens to avoid illegal migration routes and instead use lawful immigration channels to travel or seek employment abroad.
