The latest victim of such deceit is none other than Katrina Kaif.

Deepfake technology is currently being utilized to impersonate celebrities in the entertainment industry, resulting in privacy violations and damage to their reputations. The consecutive incidents of deepfake attacks have sent shockwaves through online communities, eliciting condemnation from people across various walks of life.

Following the targeted deepfake attack on Indian actor Rashmika Mandanna, the focus shifted to Katrina Kaif, whose manipulated images circulated widely on the internet. These fabricated pictures depicted her engaging in a combat scenario with a Hollywood stuntwoman while wearing only a towel.

The viral nature of these manipulated images triggered further controversy when morphed pictures surfaced online, showcasing the actress in revealing attire, replacing the towel with a low-cut dress. The explicit images generated online outrage, even prompting reactions from top stars such as Amitabh Bachchan.

The back-to-back incidents involving Rashmika Mandanna and Katrina Kaif have led to a collective outcry from members of the entertainment industry, activists, and other prominent figures. The incident has been widely criticized for the unethical use of technology to defame actors.

In the case of Rashmika Mandanna, a video clip featuring another woman was manipulated to replace her face, resulting in widespread circulation. In response to the growing concern, Indian authorities have taken action by engaging with social media platforms, including X, to discuss regulations aimed at curbing the spread of deepfake content.
