Transport fares have been reduced by 2% following a drop in petroleum prices

Following a recent decrease in petroleum prices, the district administration of Multan has announced a 2 percent reduction in commercial fares for both passenger and goods transport companies.

Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Secretary Mohsin Nisar stated, “After consultations with transporters and under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner of Multan, we have reduced fares by 2%. This reduction applies to both passenger services and goods transport agencies.”

This initiative by the district administration has made travel more affordable for citizens. One passenger, who regularly travels to Vahari, noted that the fare has been reduced from four hundred rupees to Rs50. However, they also mentioned that the reduction in fares for AC vehicles has not been as significant. Citizens have called on the government to further reduce petroleum prices to provide additional relief.
