Tragic Helicopter Crash Claims Lives of Three Crew Members in Gujarat

A tragic incident occurred on Sunday when a Coast Guard helicopter crashed at Porbandar airport in Gujarat, resulting in the deaths of three crew members, including two pilots. The crash took place at 12:10 pm during a routine training sortie, according to Porbandar Superintendent of Police Bhagirathsinh Jadeja.

The Coast Guard’s Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) was attempting to land at the airport when it went down. Emergency responders swiftly rescued the three crew members from the wreckage and rushed them to a nearby hospital in Porbandar. Despite extensive medical efforts, all three succumbed to severe burns and other injuries at the hospital, confirmed Inspector Rajesh Kanmiya of Kamala Baug police station.

The Indian Coast Guard has expressed its condolences and confirmed that an investigation into the cause of the crash is underway. This incident follows a similar tragedy just two months ago, when another Coast Guard helicopter crashed in the sea.
