[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Three Palestinian male students in their twenties, enrolled in American universities, were shot and injured near the University of Vermont while walking. The incident, currently under investigation by Burlington, Vt. police, is being treated as a hate crime.
The assailant, identified as a white man armed with a handgun, targeted the students, possibly due to two of them wearing keffiyeh scarves.

The victims, identified as Mr. Awartani, Mr. Abdalhamid, and Mr. Ahmed, were en route to Mr. Awartani’s grandmother’s house when the attack occurred. Engaged in a conversation that alternated between English and Arabic, they were subjected to the assault based on their Arab identity and the traditional scarves they were wearing.
Of the three individuals, two are in stable condition, while the third sustained more severe injuries, according to authorities. The shooter, yet to be apprehended, remains at large, and law enforcement is actively searching for the perpetrator.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
