KABUL – Banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has announced a new military campaign ‘Azm-e-Shariat’ in response to recent military operations launched by Pakistan.
The TTP’s announcement follows Pakistan’s initiation of Operation Azm-e-Istehkam aimed at countering terrorism within its borders. Pakistan has conducted airstrikes targeting militant groups believed to be responsible for attacks on civilians and armed forces. According to reports from Khorasan Diary, TTP’s new military campaign comes shortly after Pakistan’s security operation was announced.

Pakistan’s recent actions are part of efforts to implement a revised national action plan focusing on comprehensive counterterrorism measures rather than purely military operations, as highlighted by experts. These actions have led to increased tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The Afghan Taliban government has criticized Pakistan’s military strikes, citing violations of sovereignty. Pakistan, in turn, has repeatedly urged Afghanistan to take action against militant groups operating from Afghan soil, which it accuses of carrying out cross-bordeattacks.
