The federal government has decided to implement a fuel price adjustment mechanism for both commercial and residential gas consumers. A committee, convened to address issues within Pakistan’s petroleum sector, recommended incorporating fuel price adjustments into gas bills. This decision was made during a meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.

The committee has directed the Petroleum Division to propose amendments to the OGRA Ordinance to establish a system for adjusting gas rates on a monthly or quarterly basis. Additionally, the committee highlighted the need for improved security measures and instructed the Interior Division to work closely with Exploration & Production (E&P) companies and other relevant stakeholders to enhance safety protocols.
