Shehbaz advocates for Nawaz’s return to power.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said it was up to the people to determine who they wanted to bring to power, but he asked them to bear “facts” in mind as they made the vote that would “decide the future course of the country.”

Shehbaz promised to “honour whatever the public’s decision will be” at a ceremony at the Governor House in Lahore to give checks to youngsters as part of the government’s youngsters, Business, and Agriculture Loan Scheme.

“And if you choose Nawaz Sharif in the upcoming elections, I promise that we will collectively turn the situation around and put this country on the path to prosperity,” he stated.”

During a political rally, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the accomplishments of his elder brother, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and criticized the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. He urged the audience to consider the evidence-based image and testimonials, as well as the alleged destruction caused by the PTI’s four-year tenure

Shehbaz praised Nawaz Sharif’s statesmanship qualities and highlighted his achievements, including ending load shedding, providing laptops and loans to the youth, and initiating the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) power and road infrastructure projects. He accused PTI’s leader, Imran Khan, of targeting the opposition with false cases and exhibiting a phobia towards PML-N leadership.

The prime minister defended the success of youth programs initiated during Nawaz’s tenure, such as providing vehicles on merit and ensuring the return of 99% of loans. Shehbaz criticized the PTI’s government for corruption scandals, including the sugar and wheat scams, BRT Peshawar, Malam Jabba, and misappropriation of funds.

Shehbaz also addressed the importance of the IT revolution brought about by the laptop scheme and stressed that the laptops were given purely on merit. He highlighted the alleged corruption during the PTI’s government and questioned why large sums of money were not invested in the future of the youth.

Regarding the Toshakhana gifts, Shehbaz criticized the manner in which they were sold and accused Imran Khan of protecting his spouse from criminal cases. He expressed his disapproval of the vengeance unleashed against the opposition and civil servants and drew a comparison between Imran Khan and Hitler.

Shehbaz mentioned Nawaz Sharif’s political ordeals, including accusations related to the Panama Papers and Iqama charges. He commended Nawaz’s regular appearances in court, contrasting it with Imran Khan’s bail grants.

The prime minister also addressed the economy, acknowledging the reduction in petroleum prices and attributing it to the appreciation of the rupee against the dollar. He highlighted the positive aspects of the IMF program, including stabilizing the rupee’s value and preventing further economic difficulties.

Governor Punjab Balighur Rehman and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Shaza Fatima Khawaja also spoke at the rally, emphasizing the importance of opportunities for youth and the success of youth-focused programs initiated by the PML-N government.
