The 2009 T20 World Cup champions have selected five top-quality fast bowlers in their 15-player squad for the tournament’s ninth edition, with left-armer Shaheen Afridi leading the pace attack alongside Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Abbas Afridi, and Mohammad Amir.

Afridi is particularly excited about Pakistan’s prospects at this year’s T20 World Cup, co-hosted by the USA and West Indies. He is optimistic about their chances due to their strong bowling lineup.
“I think no other cricket team in the world has such a strong bowling lineup,” Afridi confidently stated.
“All our four fast bowlers possess a lot of skill, and even the bowlers on the bench, like Abbas (Afridi), have impressive skills with a good slower ball.
“If these skilled players enter this World Cup against world-class batters, they will perform well. Each name in the lineup carries a significant responsibility.”
Pakistan was the runner-up at the most recent T20 World Cup in Australia in 2022, and Afridi believes they can at least match that achievement this time.
“I believe Pakistan should reach the final,” he said. “The conditions (in the West Indies and USA) favor our team.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
