Roshan Sindh Program Faces NAB Probe Over Rs5 Billion Corruption Allegations

Roshan Sindh Program has come under investigation after serious corruption allegations surfaced. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is probing claims of financial irregularities linked to the project.

According to initial findings, the Roshan Sindh Program may involve misuse of more than Rs5 billion. Investigators suspect that fake import declarations and forged documents were used during the execution of the project. These actions reportedly caused heavy losses to the national exchequer.

Sources revealed that more than 17 fake import declarations were identified. Officials believe these were used to justify inflated costs. The inquiry also points to over-invoicing as a key method in the alleged corruption.

The investigation suggests that funds may have been transferred abroad through illegal channels. Reports indicate that some of the money was used to purchase luxury properties in Dubai. Authorities are now working to trace financial transactions linked to the case.

Several individuals have been summoned as part of the inquiry. Names include Mehfooz Qazi, Mudassar Qazi, Jafar Khawaja, and Aoun Khawaja. Their statements are being recorded to understand their roles in the Roshan Sindh Program.

NAB officials said the scope of the investigation is expanding. They believe the case may involve more individuals than initially expected. Authorities have not ruled out possible arrests as the probe continues.

One suspect has already recorded a statement before investigators. Two others have been directed to appear before NAB officials on April 15. The inquiry is moving forward with detailed scrutiny of documents and financial records.

Experts say the case highlights serious gaps in project oversight. They stress the need for stronger accountability mechanisms in public sector initiatives. Such measures are essential to prevent misuse of funds in large projects like the Roshan Sindh Program.

Officials have described the case as one of the major corruption inquiries in recent times. The alleged financial irregularities exceed Rs5 billion, making it a significant investigation.
