[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police (CTP) will initiate legal action against individuals who are involved in road encroachment and do not comply with the ongoing anti-encroachment efforts by the police.
According to a spokesperson from the traffic police, their aim is to reduce road accidents and traffic congestion. The team responsible for anti-encroachment activities will file official reports (FIRs) against those who disregard the warnings and continue with encroachment.
In a recent meeting chaired by Senior Traffic Officer Munir Ahmed Hashmi along with field operatives, strategies were discussed to ensure smooth traffic flow and prevent accidents. This included assigning responsibility to personnel in different circles, sectors, and beats for handling traffic-related issues and offenses in their respective areas.

During the meeting, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Taimoor Khan emphasized that all personnel in charge should take accountability for any instances of traffic obstruction or violations of traffic rules. The CTO also instructed traffic officials and wardens to take a strong stance against motorcyclists not wearing helmets, lacking proper number plates or licenses, and underage drivers.
The implementation of lane discipline, particularly on roads like Mall Road, was emphasized to prevent accidents and ensure adherence to traffic regulations. The CTO mentioned that drivers found violating traffic laws would be issued fines and learner’s permits as a consequence. He also urged residents to cooperate by following traffic laws, contributing to the improvement of the city’s road conditions.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
