Lahore Traffic Police Cracks Down on Helmetless Motorcyclists

Lahore’s traffic police have significantly increased their efforts to address the issue of motorcyclists riding without helmets.

According to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Mustansar Feroze, over the past nine days, the department has issued traffic violation tickets to 152,888 motorcyclists. Additionally, fines have been imposed on 23,767 individuals, and more than 38,000 motorcycles have been seized from various areas in Lahore.

In relation to the helmet law, the CTO informed that the documents of 77,119 motorcycles were confiscated. Emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy toward traffic law violators, the department has been directed to take strict measures against those who repeatedly fail to comply with helmet regulations.

Feroze clarified that the primary objective of the traffic police is not merely to issue tickets but to prioritize public safety. He urged citizens to wear helmets as a means to protect themselves and their loved ones.

To intensify the crackdown on motorcyclists without helmets across all parts of Lahore, the CTO instructed the traffic police to take stringent legal actions against repeat offenders who repeatedly refuse to adhere to helmet requirements.
