Bollywood actor Rajat Bedi has spoken out after his daughter Vera was compared to Kareena Kapoor Khan on social media. The actor revealed that Vera felt upset and uncomfortable with the comparisons.
The situation began when Vera’s pictures and videos from the screening of Bedi’s new web series, Bastard of Bollywood, went viral. Rajat Bedi, who was once known for his villain roles in films, made his screen comeback with the project. He attended the premiere with his wife, daughter Vera, and son Vivaan.
After the event, several clips and photos of the family circulated widely online. Many users described Vera as a “young Kareena Kapoor,” while others commented that she looked “more beautiful and charming” than the Bollywood star. Meanwhile, Vivaan was compared by some fans to actor Hrithik Roshan.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Rajat Bedi explained that his family was not used to such media attention. “My children have no idea about the media, the showbiz industry, or red carpet appearances. They are completely innocent,” he said.
The actor added that his wife and children live in Canada, where they follow a different lifestyle. “They don’t know how to interact with the Indian media. Suddenly, after attending the screening, my daughter became a star, and my son was also projected in the media as one,” he explained.
According to Bedi, Vera was unhappy with the comparisons and did not enjoy being described as Kareena Kapoor. He admitted that both of his children were unprepared for the sudden attention.
Rajat Bedi emphasized that his family’s appearance at the premiere was meant to be a private moment. However, the outing unexpectedly made them viral on social media, leaving his children overwhelmed by the spotlight.
