Punjab Cabinet Approves 1,220 Flats For Industrial Workers

The Punjab Cabinet held its 28th meeting under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. During this session, the Punjab Cabinet approved a comprehensive agenda consisting of 130 key points focused on improving worker welfare and housing.

One of the major decisions made by the Punjab Cabinet was the approval of 1,220 flats for industrial workers. These flats will be located in labor complexes across Sundar, Kasur, and Taxila. The flats will be distributed through a fair balloting process to ensure transparency. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized that workers will not have to bear any cost for these flats, rejecting proposals to recover expenses from them.

Additionally, the Punjab Cabinet directed immediate steps to build 3,000 more flats to accommodate the growing needs of industrial laborers. This move aims to provide affordable and secure housing to a larger number of workers in the province.

The Punjab Cabinet also approved a minimum salary of Rs40,000 for skilled, semi-skilled, and other workers in 102 different job categories. This decision reflects the government’s commitment to improving the livelihood of laborers and ensuring fair wages across industries.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz praised the efforts of Rescue 1122 personnel during recent flood emergencies. She announced a reward of Rs50,000 for each official who participated in flood relief operations. The Punjab Cabinet recognized their valuable contribution to disaster management and relief work.

Overall, the Punjab Cabinet’s latest meeting focused on key issues such as worker housing, fair wages, and disaster response. These decisions demonstrate the government’s dedication to enhancing the living conditions and welfare of the province’s labor force.
