Punjab And KP Governments Announce Ramadan Office Hours

On Saturday, the governments of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa released official office timings for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan. The notification issued by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government outlined specific timings for offices operating five and six days a week during this sacred period.

 

For offices open five days a week, the stipulated office hours will be from 9 am to 3 pm from Monday to Thursday, with a slightly shorter schedule on Fridays from 9 am to 12:30 pm. On the other hand, for those government offices functioning six days a week, the timings will be from 9 am to 2 pm from Monday to Thursday and on Saturdays. Fridays will see a shorter workday from 9 am to 12:30 pm.

Concurrently, the Punjab government also issued official office timings for the holy month of Ramadan. For government offices operating five days a week, the prescribed hours will be from 10 am to 4 pm from Monday to Thursday, with a modified schedule on Fridays, remaining open from 9 am till 1 pm.

Similarly, for government offices open six days a week, the established timings are from 9 am to 3:30 pm from Monday to Thursday and from 9 am to 1 pm on Fridays.

These directives are part of the government’s efforts to accommodate the religious practices and observances associated with Ramadan while maintaining the essential functions of public offices. The specified timings aim to strike a balance between work commitments and allowing employees to observe religious practices during this significant month. The synchronized approach between the provinces of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reflects a cohesive effort in facilitating a smooth transition to the Ramadan schedule across government offices in the respective regions.
