Islamabad Office Hours During Ramadan 2024, Starting March 12

The federal government of Pakistan has issued new working hours for public offices ahead of the holy month of Ramadan 2024. The revised timings aim to facilitate employees during the month of fasting, which is expected to commence from March 12, pending a final decision by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

The new working hours, largely applicable in Islamabad where most federal offices are located, are as follows:

– Offices working five days a week: 9 am to 3 pm from Monday to Thursday, and 9 am to 12:30 pm on Friday.

– Offices working six days a week: 9 am to 2 pm from Monday to Saturday, with Friday timing remaining the same.

This adjustment in working hours is a common practice during Ramadan to accommodate the religious observances of fasting and prayers for employees. The notification was issued by the Establishment Division. Prior to this, other provincial governments, including Sindh and Balochistan, had also issued revised timings for offices during the holy month.
