[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Shireen Mazari and Yasmin Rashid, leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), were arrested by authorities on Friday, the party said.
Shireen’s daughter, Imaan Hazir-Mazari, confirmed the arrest and shared a video on Twitter showing men in plain clothes forcing their way into their home to arrest the former minister.
A video also showed female officers removing Shireen from her home.
“At this very moment, our SVP Dr Shireen Mazari is being kidnapped. Police have also entered her home with guns, reaching a new low. It’s a disgrace!” PTI sent out a tweet.
She is the latest PTI leader detained since Imran Khan was arrested on May 9.

According to the party, Yasmin Rashid was also detained.
“Dr. Yasmin Rashid, PTI’s Iron Lady, has been arrested!” They believe that by making these arrests, they can put a stop to the movement, but they are unaware that Pakistan has changed forever. “Now we’re all Imran Khan,” PTI tweeted.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry, Jamshed Iqbal Cheema, Falaknaz Chitrali, Musarrat Jamshed Cheema, Maleeka Bokhari, Ijaz Chaudhry, and Ali Mohammad Khan have already been detained.
According to Islamabad Police, their arrests were made for inciting arson and violent protests as part of a well-planned plan to threaten peace.
All of these leaders were arrested after meeting all of the legal requirements. More arrests were expected, according to the police.
According to Reuters, nearly 2,000 people have been arrested and at least eight have been killed since the protests began in Pakistan.
Hundreds of protesters blocked highways, major entry and exit routes to all major cities, attacked and burned state buildings, police and public vehicles, and ransacked army installations.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
