The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), in its ongoing efforts to combat the widespread presence of illegal internet service providers, recently conducted two successful operations in Sargodha with the assistance of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

The initial raid occurred in RB Block, Rose Valley Society, while the second operation was carried out at Burj-e-Umar Plaza on Mian Khan Road. During these operations, one individual was apprehended, and various equipment related to illegal ISPs, including switches, routers, laptops, antennas, etc., was seized. These entities were found to be offering ISP services in Sargodha and its surrounding areas without the necessary license from PTA.

In an official statement, PTA highlighted that the successful actions against illegal ISPs were made possible through continuous monitoring, dedication, and persistent efforts to combat the problem of unauthorized internet services. This crackdown aims to prevent financial losses to the national treasury caused by tax evasion and underreporting of revenues.

The statement also advised the public to utilize telecom services exclusively from PTA-licensed operators to avoid potential disruptions in their service. A list of licensed operators is available for reference.
