This action follows a previous day’s clash between student protesters and law enforcement in the Dutch capital.
In a statement, police noted that unlike the previous evening when riot police forcefully dispersed an encampment at UvA, the university had not requested intervention to halt the protest.

Responding to the situation, UvA issued a statement shortly after midnight expressing a desire to reach a resolution with the protesting students, who have been demonstrating since Monday. The university also highlighted the significant damage caused to its buildings by the protest.
Due to the blockades, several university locations will remain closed on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, at the University of Utrecht, approximately 40 km (25 miles) south of Amsterdam, local law enforcement disbanded a pro-Palestinian demonstration at the university library, as reported by the institution.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
