Pakistan holds the third position after defeating Bangladesh but suffering a massive 228-run loss to India in their second Super 4s match.
While batting first, India set a target of 214 runs on the spin-friendly pitch, largely thanks to Rohit Sharma’s resilient half-century.
Sri Lanka’s 20-year-old spinner, Dunith Wellalage, shone by taking five wickets while conceding 40 runs, while part-time spinner Charith Asalanka claimed four wickets.
In response, the home team struggled at 99 for six before Dunith Wellalage and Dhananjaya de Silva mounted a middle-order resistance, scoring 63 runs in partnership.
